Message from Professor Rafi Beyar
President, International Friends Associations of Rambam Health Care Campus
Dear Friends,
My 13-year term as the Director and CEO of Rambam Health Care Campus was a remarkable journey, marked by significant achievements and the realization of many of our dreams. However, the journey continues.
It is both an honor and a privilege to continue serving this remarkable medical center in my role as the President of the International Friends Associations of Rambam Health Care Campus.
The task before me is both exciting and challenging: to support Rambam’s exceptional leadership team, serve as a personal point of contact for our friends, and expand our global network by highlighting Rambam’s vital role in the health and security of Israel. Recently, Newsweek ranked Rambam among the top hospitals in Israel, underscoring our commitment to advancing patient care, medical education, innovation, and research, while gaining international recognition. As the cornerstone of healthcare security in Northern Israel, we are actively seeking partners at every level to help us complete several high-impact projects.
Inspired by lessons from the 2006 Second Lebanon War, the largest in the world, The Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital (FUEH) was completed in 2014. Typically used as an underground parking facility, it can be converted into a fully operational hospital within 72 hours, equipped to withstand missile and chemical attacks and mass health crises. Following the events of October 7, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Israel Defense Forces, we immediately mobilized our resources. Within hours, the FUEH was prepared—and remains ready—to receive thousands of injured patients at a moment’s notice.
Ongoing drills and training ensure Rambam’s preparedness to provide safe patient care. Continuous funding is essential to maintain and further equip this unique facility. Given the volatile nature of Israel’s northern border and the threat from Hezbollah, maintaining absolute readiness is crucial.
Cardiac disease remains one of the greatest global health threats. The Eyal Ofer Heart Hospital, which opened its doors in June 2022, continues to expand and improve. Numerous naming opportunities are available for the support of key projects and facilities. As the only comprehensive cardiovascular hospital in Northern Israel, the Eyal Ofer Heart Hospital provides state-of-the-art care and serves as a top-tier center for Rambam's leading cardiovascular research program.
The Helmsley Health Discovery Tower is a groundbreaking collaboration between Rambam, the University of Haifa, and the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Once completed, it will serve as a hub for integrating clinical care, biomedical research, health innovations, and med-tech. This project has the potential to significantly impact both global health and the local community.
Rambam has numerous and ongoing needs, including advanced imaging and therapeutic equipment, grants to further the education and knowledge of our dedicated professionals, research funding, and other high-impact projects.
Nothing is more rewarding than a partnership dedicated to building a robust medical infrastructure that will impact humanity for generations to come. Some of our critical projects are outlined in the website. Contact us to discuss an opportunity that aligns with your vision for the future of medicine.
