Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel—the largest hospital in Northern Israel—recently received the prestigious European Certificate of Accreditation and will now serve as a training center for super-specialization in gynecologic oncology.
Following a lengthy accreditation process and evaluation, Rambam is one of three hospitals in Israel to receive the certificate and achieve this status. The goal was to assess and measure the academic and clinical capabilities of the teams in hospital’s Division of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Following the successful completion of the accreditation procedure, the team is authorized to train future generations of specialists in gynecologic oncology.
The super-specialization training program involves collaboration between Rambam and the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera. The two hospitals will work under The Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine Faculty of Medicine at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, to which both centers are affiliated.
“Rambam is home to the largest oncology institute and gynecologic oncology unit in Northern Israel and this is truly groundbreaking news.” says Dr. Imad Matanes, director of the Picciotto Family Gynecologic Oncology Unit. “Highly experienced experts lead our unit and offer patients unique services and exclusive treatments. Interdisciplinary collaborations enable us to deliver optimal care and pioneering solutions as part of global multi-center studies.
