Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) sets the national standard for excellence in internal medicine, highlighting outstanding clinical care, staffing, and patient outcomes.
The Division of Internal Medicine at Rambam comprising of 227 beds, 102 physicians, and 202 nurses, received the highest scores in a Ministry of Health report last week, which evaluates service improvement and quality-of-care indicators in internal medicine departments in public hospitals nationwide.
In four of the five indicators, Rambam’s Division of Internal Medicine ranked first among Israel’s leading tertiary medical centers.
Rambam achieved the lowest readmission rate nationwide—a key marker of quality of care. Rambam ranked first in the proportion of nurses with advanced training and the hospital also recorded the highest physician-to-bed staffing levels across all internal medicine departments.
“The Internal Medicine Division is the backbone of the hospital and plays a crucial role in treating the most complex and critically ill patients,” says Professor Ayelet Raz Pasteur, director of Rambam’s Herta and Paul Amir Department of Internal Medicine A. “This achievement reflects a strategic effort by the hospital and the shared commitment of all sectors—physicians, nurses, and administrative and support staff."
