Professor Michael Halberthal, general director of Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel, and the Mayor of Haifa, Yona Yahav, were interviewed by FOX News. The interview was broadcast earlier this week and spotlighted the critical role of the Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Hospital (FUEH) at Rambam and the threat of a widening conflict in the North.
Should the conflict escalate, the region can expect a daily barrage of thousands of missiles and emergency preparations for such a scenario are being made at Rambam.
FOX News reporter Trey Yingst and Professor Halberthal toured the FUEH. There, Yingst saw the command center, operating rooms, an ICU, delivery rooms, and triage in the emergency hospital.
Professor Halberthal elaborated on the current Hezbollah threat, Haifa’s strategic location, and sensitive targets nearby. He stated that should a war in the region break out, Rambam—the only Level-1 trauma center in the North—will need to treat thousands of injured soldiers and civilians.
