Professor Halberthal, Director General of Rambam Health Care Campus, is a specialist in pediatrics and pediatric intensive care. After completing fellowships at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, he joined Rambam in 1986. In 2009, he joined the hospital's leadership, becoming Director General in 2019. Since then, he has led Northern Israel's only tertiary healthcare and Level-1 trauma center with unwavering dedication and sensitivity.

Dr. Weissman has served a the Head of Medical Operations at Rambam since January 2014. He is a senior anesthesiologist and the Director of Anesthesia in the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Weissman holds an MHA degree in Health Systems Administration.

​Dr. Mekel is responsible for physician affairs and the development of medical fields within Rambam. Dr. Mekel led and developed the field of endocrine surgery within the Department of General Surgery and is a respected and recognized surgeon in her field. She holds a senior clinical lecturer appointment at the Ruth & Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. In her previous management roles, Dr. Mekel led the hospital’s Quality, Safety, and Risk Management Directorate and served as the Head of the Hospitalization Directorate.

Professor Shachor-Meyouhas is a senior physician in the Infectious Diseases Unit. She specialized in pediatrics, completed a subspecialty in pediatric infectious diseases, and also specialized in medical administration. She is a clinical associate professor at the Technion. Her research interests include infectious diseases in immunocompromised children, as well as fungal, viral, and hospital-acquired infections.

A graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Haifa, Nissim Haim is a member of the hospital's management and various other committees. He has served as Rambam’s Director of the Human Resources Division and the Director of the Operations and Planning Division. He is also responsible for hospital safety and hygiene systems.

Dr. Golan joined Rambam HCC in 1984, beginning her tenure as Director of Human Resources. She was appointed C.O.O. in 1995, Deputy Director in 2013, and in 2015, she assumed her current role as Managing Director of International Relations and Chief of Strategic Development. Dr. Golan is integral to driving the hospital's strategic initiatives, overseeing development, and managing marketing efforts. She plays a key role in planning and enhancing new hospital facilities and services. Her relationships with international supporters and fundraising efforts have significantly contributed to transforming the hospital.

Mrs. Gila Hyams was appointed Director of Nursing at Rambam in 2015. She also directs the Center for Trauma, Emergency Medicine, and Mass Casualty Events and coordinates trauma care, infection prevention, and patient-caregiver relations. Her clinical areas of focus are patient and caregiver relations; trauma, emergency medicine, and mass casualty events; infection prevention, and medical simulation.

Dr. Horowitz is a senior physician, Director of Operational Hospitalization Logistics, and Head of clinical trials at Rambam’s Hematology Institute. He is Israeli board certified in internal medicine and hematology, and specializes in hematological malignancies, diagnosis, and treatment of coagulation and bleeding disorders.

Professor Gepstein is the Director of both the Cardiology Department and the Division of Research at Rambam. His research focuses on cardiac electrophysiology, genetic heart diseases, and the use of stem cell technologies, tissue engineering, and genetic engineering to develop innovative treatments for heart diseases. His laboratory was among the pioneers in developing methods for differentiating stem cells to create human heart tissue in the lab. Professor Gepstein completed his Ph.D. research, focusing on the development of a unique system for the electrical mapping of the heart, which is now the leading method for treating cardiac arrhythmias through electrical ablation.

Professor Magen is the Director of the Division of Pediatrics and of the Pediatric Nephrology Institute at Rambam. She holds an academic appointment of Clinical Associate Professor in the Technion’s Faculty of Medicine and is a member of the Institutional Review Board (Helsinki Committee). Her research explores the molecular basis of hereditary kidney and metabolic disorders among consanguineous ethnic groups in the north of Israel, with a special focus on inherited renal tubulopathies.

Clinical Associate Professor Azzam is the Director of both the Internal Medicine Division and Internal Medicine B at Rambam. He specialized in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Rambam and completed a two-year research fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he deepened his expertise in pulmonary health. Professor Azzam has also served as the Chair of Rambam’s Internship Committee. His research focuses on the cellular mechanisms of lung edema clearance, heart failure, and medical education, and he has published numerous articles on these subjects.

Dr. Ullmann is the acting director of the Surgical Division and the Burn Unit at Rambam. He is also the founder and director of the Aesthetic Plastic Service at the hospital and a clinical associate professor of Plastic Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion.

Professor Irit Ben-Aharon, director of the Joseph Fishman Oncology Center, leads a skilled multi-disciplinary team and is a world-renowned oncology expert. She completed fellowship training at two top U.S. cancer centers and heads the Young Adult Colorectal Cancer Task Force for the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer. Her research focuses on the side effects of chemotherapy and biological treatments on blood vessels and fertility, immune pathways in gastrointestinal malignancies, as well as the biology of gastrointestinal cancers in young adults.

Dr. Bar-Lavie, Director of the Division of Critical Care Medicine, is an expert in anesthesia and intensive care with extensive experience in trauma care. Notably, he established and managed the Mobile Intensive Care Unit in Be'er Sheva for five years. He has served as the Director of the Neuro-Surgical Intensive Care Unit and the Intermediate Intensive Care Unit at Rambam. He has been recognized for his contributions to resident education in the USA and for advancing care in respiratory failure, sepsis, and head trauma. He is also a recipient of the Outstanding Young Investigator Award from the American Head Injury Association.

Dr. Bahouth is the Director of the Emergency Medicine and Trauma System Section. He graduated from Hadassah Medical School at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and completed his General Surgery residency at Rambam. Dr. Bahouth also completed a fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care at Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, Florida. He is a lecturer at the Technion Faculty of Medicine. His clinical interests include non-operative treatment of splenic injury, antibiotic prophylaxis in trauma, and prevention of venous thromboembolic events.

Dr. Kaplan is the Director of the Laboratory Division and the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory at Rambam HCC. She is also a senior lecturer at the Technion Faculty of Medicine and a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry. Her research focuses on understanding the inflammatory processes that lead to atherosclerotic lesions and cardiovascular diseases. She is particularly interested in studying the expression and regulation of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) in arterial wall cells.

Dr. Basis is a specialist in emergency and internal medicine and is the Director of the Medical ER at Rambam. He serves as the Treasurer of the Israeli Emergency Medicine Council and is the editor of the print edition of the Israeli Journal of Emergency Medicine. His main fields of research include emergency medicine development, management, leadership, and the development of human resources in the medical system.

Clinical Associate Professor Weiner is the Director of the Division of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Rambam HCC. He specialized in Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the US and previously served as the Director of the Maternal-Fetal Unit at a hospital in Brooklyn, New York. His research focuses on developing ultrasound and doppler techniques for monitoring fetal development. He is also involved in prenatal diagnosis and the management of high-risk pregnancies and fetuses. Professor Weiner has published numerous articles on fetal physiology and prenatal diagnosis.

Professor Paul, completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Beilinson Hospital. She was appointed Director of the Infectious Diseases Institute at Rambam in 2012, and is also an Associate Professor at the Technion. Her research focuses on hospital-acquired infections, antibiotic resistance and therapy, decision support systems, and evidence-based medicine. She has published over 130 articles in leading medical journals and holds senior editorial positions at two prominent journals.

The Director of Quality of Service and Patient Relations at Rambam, Berman-Kishony holds interdisciplinary qualifications in law, mediation, teaching, and public policy, which she earned both in Israel and abroad. She is particularly interested in applying mediation within the medical system and in creating a "learning system" to enhance feedback and patient inquiries.

Nardeen Sbait joined Rambam in 2013 and currently serves as the hospital’s Attorney General. Dr. Berger, is a Board Member and the Director of Internal Medicine B. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Pulmonology at Rambam and a research fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. He has received several prestigious awards from Rambam and the Technion, including Rambam’s Best Young Investigator Award. Sara Tzafrir serves as Chief Information Officer and is a member of the hospital’s Senior Management Committee. After a three-year absence, she resumed management of Rambam’s information systems and took on responsibility for the Communications Department, eventually creating the Division of Information, Computing, and Communications. She has led pioneering projects within the Israeli hospital system, including the initiation, development, and integration of the “Prometheus” computerized medical records system, which has been adopted nationwide.
